Who is the Shippensburg Church of the  Brethren?

We are a collection of Christians from many religious backgrounds and experiences who are committed to following Jesus Christ with sincere devotion and service. What makes our congregation unique?

• We are committed to a wholehearted love-relationship with Jesus Christ, trusting Him as our Lord, Savior, and Master of our daily lives. 
• We are committed to worship (through a variety of services) and study (through Sunday morning classes and mid-week Bible studies) that stimulates our minds and stirs our hearts toward God's mind and heart. We desire an increasing love and knowledge of Him, an increasing transformation of our lives to Jesus', and an increasing love for one another and the world.
• We value relationships that are characterized by love, unity, accountability and peace, all for the purpose of being the kind of people God envisions for us to be.
• We are commited to marriage and the family, through activities that nurture family relations and spiritual growth.
• Through service and testimony, we are commited to making a difference in our world; to share the love and truth of Jesus to people in our world, for both their earthly and eternal joy.

Who Are the Church of the Brethren? 

In the New Testament, the word “brethren” describes a community of men and women who chose another way of living: the way of Jesus. The Church of the Brethren, begun nearly three centuries ago in Germany, still draws people who want to continue Jesus’ work of faithfulness and loving service.
