THANKSGIVING CELEBRATION
On Wednesday, November 19, Mr. Gene Niswander provided the program for this year’s Family Night Thanksgiving Celebration. He and his wife have been studying the history of Indian tribes in Cumberland, Franklin, and Fulton counties for over 30 years. They share this knowledge by visiting schools, churches, and a variety of other organizations. Mr. Niswander gave a short lecture and showed the group Indian artifacts that they have collected locally. The children then had the opportunity to grind corn and eat cornbread, make a leather headband, and get a lesson on shooting bow and arrow. It was an evening full of learning and fun.
